Ali delivers knockout blow in the Third
Article:
For the second week running, the Thomas, Carroll Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League programme was decimated by bad weather during the week. All the Division One matches were cancelled but cricket was played in Division Three where Cardiff Gymkhana were beaten by Pontymister.

Pontymister won the toss and put the Gymkhana in to bat and then bowled them out for just 98 in which Abbas Ashraf scored 20 and next best was Mo Saqib with 12. Zulfi Ali returned 6-1-21-3 for Pontymister, Mo Aqbal took 2-15 off six overs, Haroon Kumar had 8-2-22-2 and Mo Asif took 2-2 off 1.2 overs at the end.

Pontymister had a bit of a scare as they lost four wickets for two runs but Ali Shazad anchored the innings with a superb 62 not out and with skipper Neil Turner (8no) saw them home on 99-6. Murad Mugal took 2-11 off five overs for the Gymkhana. Also in Division Three, visitors Upper Rhondda were put in at Lisvane and reached 189-7 thanks mainly to a magnificent 101 by Pete Webb with support coming from Daniel Moore who made 25.

Justin Rowles took 4-39 for Lisvane and Ali Sanandaji 3-38. Lisvane chased down the target to make 193-7 in which Rob Williams scored 66 and veteran Wayne Watson 22. Moore took 2-40 for Upper Rhondda and Craig Pritchard 2-42.

In Division Two, Croesyceiliog entertained Ebbw Vale who went in first and made 208-9. For Croesy, Lewis Pheasant took 4-43 and Tom Kear 2-38. Ben Evans took 3-40 for Ebbw Vale and David Windross 2-33.
